 Jul 24, 2007 Welcome to the official Multiply site of Ang Pamantasan! The Ang Pamantasan (AP) is an independent student organization and is the official student publication of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM). With the students of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila as the publishers, Ang Pamantasan is managed by the current Editorial Board of the publication. Established in 1979, the publication will be celebrating its 30th anniversary on December 2009. VISION A competent university-based publication serving the students of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila through journalism, exercising campus press freedom for public information towards the full attainment of academic freedom, for the betterment of the welfare of the students. MISSION The Ang Pamantasan Student Publication serves as the voice of the PLM students. Guided by the principle of balance and responsible journalism, AP delivers information of truth, interest and social relevance for the development of the intellectual conception of its readers towards issues pertaining to the University. In addition, AP teaches its readers to treat critical issues logically and with maturity. AP tries to interpret University policies, rules and regulations without abridging its real interpretation by consulting concerned offices for clarifications. AP also serves as a watchdog for graft and corruption, student rights violations and other acts which contradict Philippine laws. AP promotes student vigilance over illegal acts within the University. AP encourages students to express their ideas through journalistic and creative writing. This is manifested by the organization’s continuous search for campus journalists and the conduct of seminars and forums about campus journalism and student awareness. As a continuing goal, AP strengthens its thrust towards the full realization of campus press freedom through information dissemination of Republic Act 7079 also known as the Campus Journalism Act of 1991 and by exposing acts against campus journalists and all other forms of oppression of press freedom within the University
